Ruslana Koziienko

Lying at the intersection of research on gendered borders, masculinities, geographical (im)mobility, war and militarism, and nationalism, the research project inquires into the experiences of adult men in Ukraine as related to the ban on men aged between 18 and 60 leaving the country, and the strategies they develop in response to it. This includes both strategies of legally or illegally evading the ban and crossing the border and strategies of conducting their lives in Ukraine if unable to leave. This is a pilot study that will become a part of Koziienko's dissertation research project.
