Tsvetan Stoyanov Fellowship for Bulgarian Scholars

The Tsvetan Stoyanov Fellowship enabled a junior scholar to spend six months at the IWM in Vienna to pursue her/his research project while working in residence at the Institute. They became a member of the international and multidisciplinary scholarly community at the IWM and were invited to present their project at the Institute. This fellowship program ran from 2011 - 2013. 

Candidates for the Tsvetan Stoyanov Fellowship had to be Bulgarian citizens; have been enrolled in a doctoral program or recently have obtained a PhD and were no older than 35 years.

All projects undertaken under this program were within the humanities and social sciences, and had to be related to Bulgaria and/or South-Eastern Europe in a broader European or international context.

The Tsvetan Stoyanov Fellowship Program was named after the eminent Bulgarian intellectual, writer and literary historian Tsvetan Stoyanov (1930–1971).
